An independent site for overseas customers: readable, and able to take payment

A consumer brand with a hit product at home still often puts the Chinese site into English and stops. Overseas visitors see large type, little reason to trust the seller, and a checkout that does not complete. The site has to answer three things: will they trust you, can they pay the way they already pay, and do they see the product on a phone without waiting.

On this page
  1. Pick one page people can find, then add more
  2. Put trust and payment next to the decision, not in the footer
  3. The site and the marketplaces are not a choice of one

Pick one page people can find, then add more

A single long page is enough to test early. When there are more services, something worth sharing, or one product that needs its own ads, split those into stable paths. Each intent people might share needs its own URL, title, and heading. Do not point the whole site’s canonical tag back at the home page.

Language is more than translation. Traditional or simplified Chinese, English, or the wording of the target market decides the navigation, how sizes are labelled, and what after-sales you can promise. A visual system that reads internationally is not the same as exporting a festive red palette.

Put trust and payment next to the decision, not in the footer

The Hong Kong company name, a contact that can be checked, and shipping and returns should sit near the purchase. One footer line that says “International Shipping” is not enough. Payment methods and the settlement currency have to match the company that holds the account, so a customer is not paying a name that does not appear on the receipt.

Speed is part of trust. Do not lazy-load the main product image on mobile, use a modern image format, and delay third-party chat and pixels. A slow site does not get to the end of a good brand story.

The site and the marketplaces are not a choice of one

Amazon or a local marketplace can create volume. The independent site still has to hold the brand and repeat purchases. Use the same visual system and the same company on the marketplace, so there are not two “official” sellers that do not recognise each other.

Aurikle handles brand and website in this order: a visual system an overseas reader can follow, a site that can convert, then a marketplace presence. A handsome page comes after a page that can complete a sale.
